House Alive News — June, 2010
A quick update from the House Alive Homestead….
We are only a month away from our project in South Dakota and want to announce that we have 1 last minute opening in our popular apprenticeship program (due to a cancellation). If you had considered signing up but didn’t because it was full, here is your chance! The course starts on the July 5th and goes until the end of August. Read more about this unique program and what you’ll learn.
We also want to remind you that the last 2 weeks in August are “Volunteer weeks.” This is a great opportunity for you to join this exciting project, to learn, contribute and deepen your understanding of cob building. We are looking for cooks, carpenters, electricians, plasterers and anyone else who wants to help out on this adventure. There is plenty of space to camp and we will provide food. You can come for all or part of the time, just let us know when you will be there so we know how much food to buy and prepare.
Last but not least, we have raised about 1/3rd of the required funds for this project. We still need to raise $8000 to make the project a success. If you’ve made a donation already, thank you so much. If you haven’t, please consider making a donation now!
After a long, very dry winter, we are now experiencing a long very wet Spring, which makes the trees very happy!
